Subject Delta could be considered a cyborg, effectively, since I don't believe they can breathe without the armor, so you could play them that way as you like. You could also say that the modifications didn't follow them through death and play them as the human Johnny Topside! As long as Delta is capable of communicating somehow, I think either one would be fine.
