batteryacid: from the Matlock episode "The Star" (I)

Since the archer is taking care of general harrying, Eddie is freed up to choose a tactical target -- taking out one of the monster's legs. The creature's shape is most like a ram, and Eddie goes for a back leg. If they can trap it in place, or at the very least slow it down, the kill will be easier.

That is, at least, the hope.

Which may be diminished somewhat by Eddie's first strike to his target not landing well. The star-ram shifts at just the wrong moment, moving back, and there's less power to the blow as a result.

Eddie huffs, retreats a few steps, and switches to his backup -- a less heavy, plain club; a weapon that won't tire him out so quickly as the tetsubo. It'll take more hits to subdue the creature, perhaps, but he won't be exhausted by the end. And he can switch back to the heavier weapon to finish it off, if needed.

[[ OOC: Rolled a d20 for the result of Eddie's attack, got an 11. Oops, darn. But he's not giving up on his plan! ]]
