"I failed to protect her!" He snarls, slamming one of his clawed feet against the wall hard enough to gouge the wood before retreating up to the ceiling, shrinking down to the size of a normal spider and nearly disappearing into the shadows and wood grain. "I failed her, just like I failed my children! I don't deserve her!"
He wheezes for a moment -- spider eyes cannot weep -- before muttering, "I don't deserve her. Go ahead and mock me for it -- hhheee -- you may even have the right. But I cannot face her."
After a moment he wonders out loud, "What gave me away? I'm over 80% organic now...possibly more, I haven't tried cracking my own head open to check just yet..."
