"I took a couple months to decide on a job," Chris says. "And I know Emery and Sam live out in the forest rather than in the village."

Chris goes up to one of the houses and knocks on the door. There's a wait before the door opens up, and an elderly woman with a cane is standing there.

"Oh! Hello, Doctor Freeman," she says, "it isn't time for my checkup, is it?"

"No, ma'am," Chris replies, "Ylva and I have some extra food to hand out. Meat and bread."

"That's very kind! Please come in."
