Chris catches that moment of Ylva taking a breath to steel herself, and very deliberately leaves a path clear to the door for her (just in case).
The elderly lady smiles warmly at Ylva, and uses her free hand to take the package. "Thank you very much! My husband and I need help around the house lately, and my daughter does what she can, but... well, we appreciate your generosity, my dear."
Chris says, "And I've got some bread for you as well, Mrs. Underhill. The mill is only making whole grain flour now, to make sure we get all the nutrition we can."
"Oh, you know my old man will crab about it, but we're still grateful for you too, Doctor Freeman." Mrs. Underhill smiles at them both. "Care to stay for a spot of tea?"
"We've got some more deliveries to make, ma'am. But thank you."
