Unfortunately, people still want to take care of their neighbors and make sure that they still have at least some of what they need to get by. The reality of their situation as it is right now means that there's been more than a few instances like this in these lean weeks.

"Weird seein' you look like you were like school age, though." He hefts over the bag, making sure Eddie has a secure hold on it, then crouches and pulls one of his gloves off to reach out and rub the end of his finger along Bobbin's neck as she quietly clucks and murmurs at them bustling around in her space. "Gonna be nice when the girls get older though, yeah. Maybe they'll end up friends like that for real."

He looks back at Thread all broody on her nest. "Maybe two. Wouldn't do to just have one by herself. Gotta keep each other company." He's pretty sure chickens needed companionship just like most animals seemed to, anyway.
