He puts the cloth away, keeping his hand in his pocket to worry it between his fingers. César can't help some nerves, even if he trusts Magne's assessment that her friends from home would have liked him. It's natural.

The question gains a thoughtful expression as he rolls it around in his head, and then he switches to Japanese. "[More happy than not. This place has its ups and downs, too. But she can see a future for herself here she doesn't have to fight tooth and nail against society for. Women can just be themselves, here. There's no bullshit tight little boxes on how men and women need to act. I've yet to find someone who doesn't admire her strength.]" He pauses, considers some more, then adds. "[She always smiles when she talks about the League, though, and I can tell you're all often on her mind. The League's radical acceptance made her life here possible. Magne saw people could love her for who she was once and took the plunge to trust it could happen again.]"

He was trying to keep himself more sober, but they're talking about Magne. César can't help the warmth in his voice and the soft smile on his face. Something about being in love does that to a person.
