"Fast enough not to get caught so far," he replies uneasily, shifting foot to foot and glancing between the monsters, then back at Leon, only to freeze when he catches the look on the man's face. "No, don't even think about it." Death may not be permanent here, but he wasn't about to let someone else be hurt on his behalf. He reaches to grab the nearest bit of Leon's shirt that he can get a reasonable grip on, and tugs to one side in the hopes of getting both of them moving rather than fighting these things.

The scorpion creature is advancing, claws raised in a facsimile of a threat display, while the humanoid lurches forward with its face toward them, bulky arms coming up as if to grab.
