Lev does choose a booth where it's not too hard to see most of the entry/exit points—as in, all the ones he's aware of. He's not too certain that the Oak & Iron doesn't have any funny business going on regarding secret passageways, hidden doors and emergency exits disguised to look like bookcases or anything like that. There are many ways to come by a healthy paranoia about being able to get the fuck out of dodge—Lev came by his during the Revolution.
Once he and Leon have both taken a seat, Lev leans against the back of the booth and stretches his legs out as far as he's able.
To Leon's prompt, he first says, "mashke," then remembers where he is, and apologetically tells the barmaid, "uh, like, any distilled grain liquor common here, nu? Shnaps if such things exist here. And a pint of shandygaff, if thou would'st be so good."
He's uncertain what the Oak & Iron has as far as liquor goes, but he's drunk various combinations of beer and soft drinks here before. But truth be told, he misses distilled spirits, and he's tired enough to have momentarily forgotten he's not at home.
"Thanks," he says to Leon. "I ... I rather need a drink. Given, nu, everything."
