According to Gil Calloway, the books were in a wooden box that inexplicably fell off his roof in the middle of the night. The box absolutely exploded, but the books inside seem to be in reasonable condition.
He is allowing anyone who comes for them to name their price, stating, "I don't upcharge books, especially religious ones. That's just asking to get struck by lightning."
