Hello Crossing gang!
Welcome to Pumpkin Hollow! We're sorry to hear that you may have lost your game. Many of our current player base also migrated here together from a game called Come Sail Away, and receiving an influx of players who all had a good rapport already was one of the best things to happen to this game! However, we were a little under-prepared, so this time I've created this handy dandy orientation page!
Here's what you need to do to get settled:
- Please carefully read our premise and rules. There's a ton of information, but the premise will contain the basis of your story and the rules are foundational to making sure we all have a great time, so start there!
- Fill out our new player application and await approval.
- If you are bringing over a character you played in the Crossing, please link your character app from The Crossing to the player application, and indicate whether you'd like to use CRAU or clean slate. If you are apping a totally new character, please use the Pumpkin Hollow character application as normal!
- Set up your ledger as instructed in the approval post, and make sure to add an extra 100 Brass to any apps completed between 8/25 and 10/31.
- Check out @ph-memes for our current TDM and the welcome mingle we'll be putting up for you soon! Feel free to also check out our extant events.
- Join our Discord Server! You'll receive a warm welcome.
"How are we handling The Crossing's memloss functions?" - Great question! We're leaving that up to individual players. If you want to have your character continue losing memories for a while longer, you may do so, although this will probably eventually wear off. You can also have your character speak to Mortanne to try and resolve it, gradually regain their memories over time without assistance, remember everything all at once, or just kind of stop where they are. Up to you! Have fun with it.
"What if the Crossing gets revived later?" - You're welcome to continue your story there and here! If you need to drop, that's okay too. We'll leave the porch lantern on for you in both Pumpkin Hollow and our upcoming sequel game, The Emerald Crown.
"Are there any big game events coming up that I should know about?" - Yes! In September there is a very major event going on that you should plan for as soon as possible. Head over to @ph-ooc to check out our Plotting Post and learn more.
"What if a character I want to bring doesn't fit with your game's rules?" - Very few things are unsalvageable here--- we may just have to make some adjustments. Reach out in the question thread below!
"I heard that players can have multiple characters from the same piece of media in this game--- is that true?" - Yes! The only rule is that if they interact, you can't claim AC bonuses for threads where you play more than one character in the same thread.
"There's a lot of lore because Pumpkin Hollow has been running for 2 years. How in the world do I get caught up???" - We have a lore document! Check it out!
"What if I decide to app in after Halloween?" - Starting Nov. 1st, the simplified app process will no longer be available. You'll need to app in like a normal player would. However, you may still be eligible for a referral bonus through our normal referral program, found in the header of our main nav.

The lore document: The color-coding to make it quick and easy for people to find out / remind themselves about what their characters are likely to know? I love this.
