This is also where you submit special purchase requests. Whenever you want to buy something not listed in the shops, such as a custom item that doesn’t have a specified price, you will need to make a purchase request to have a price issued to you. Special items that must be acquired through the Shady Merchant can be requested here and purchased here. You will also need to inform the bank when you upgrade your home or business, change jobs, or start a new business!

However, for non-upgrade items with predetermined prices such as your grocery budget, you can just add them to your ledger without making a formal request. This also includes items with previously determined prices as found in the buyer's guide.

Research Materials

Hi mods! The point of this post is two-fold: first, to get approval for Tarantulas's future research projects, and second, to get estimates of how much it will cost in materials to complete those projects successfully.

The point of these projects isn't to complete them right away and flood Pumpkin Hollow with a bunch of random junk! But because Tarantulas is an inventor and polymath, I think it's only appropriate that his workspace be littered with works in progress for visitors to bother him about. I can establish separate lines in his budget for each project and add small amounts of brass to them over time, creating the impression of progress and change in his personal space. He could even have arguments with other players about his priorities!

So, the projects I'm most interested in having Tara begin working on this month are --
-- Radio transmitter (more a working prototype than a finished project, this will demonstrate his ability to adapt to the materials and tools he has available and provide a foundation for further improvements re: the community's quick response and coordination issues)
-- Answering machine ("I need a device that will answer the phone and record messages for me, so I no longer have to waste so much time talking to people! I will call it -- the Autocomm! Hyeh hyeh hyeh!!!")
-- Anti-Demon Artillery mk 1: the Mundane Rifle (a perfectly normal, no thrills rifle, with a spiral-bored barrel and gunpowder ignition. Another working prototype; once the foundation has settled, we'll see about making it bigger. Better. More...magical. ;;;;3c)

I think that Artisan would be most suitable for his immediate goals. He's quite happy reasonably content to fund his research by doing repair work and accepting special orders from the townspeople, but he's not interested in letting the railroad or factories dictate his schedule. I had this idea that he spent the last half of November shadowing the other electricians in town to prove he knew what he was doing before basically earning permission to work for himself (this is also why I had him buy his own tools out of pocket during that period). If that meets with your approval we could also say that that was his trial period for getting into the Guild?

John would like to have a custom coat made in the style of his Army jacket, sans military insignias. XD Just a heavy coat made of warm, sturdy, probably pretty modest fabric with equally simple lining to properly bundle up.
